Brief CV for Dr. Eckhard Ruthemeyer

Dr. Eckhard Ruthemeyer, born on 19 November 1960, comes from Hagen near the Teutoburger Forest. After obtaining a law degree at Münster University, for six years he headed the finance department in the city of Wolfsburg. During this period, he was awarded his doctorate for a dissertation on a municipal law topic. In 1996, the council of Soest elected him as First Councillor and Treasurer. Three years later, Eckhard Ruthemeyer was elected as the full-time Mayor of Soest, and confirmed in office in 2004 and in 2009. He has been part of the StGB NRW’s Presidium since April 2005, and 1^st Deputy President since 31 October 2008.
